Healing Hands of Joy is an organization dedicated to supporting maternal health in Ethiopia. I was the cinematographer and editor of the “The Power of Joy,” which follows women who were cured of a devastating childbirth injury called obstetric fistula and now work as safe motherhood ambassadors. The longer 10-minute version premiered at a fundraising event in NYC, and the trailer appears on web sites, social media and their YouTube Channel. Funds for the production of the film were provided by one of their major grant providers, The Helmsley Foundation.
